CO WEXFORD, Ireland - Opus Fund Services, an independent, privately owned global fund administrator headquartered in Bermuda, is to open a second office in Ireland, locating in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.
The expansion will result in the establishment of 100 new jobs over five years.
Founded in 2006, Opus Fund Services announced the official launch of its European fund administration business in Dublin earlier this year following a comprehensive application process resulting in authorisation by the Central Bank of Ireland under the Investment Intermediaries Act.
Opus says it has now selected Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford as its second location in which to grow and optimise its Irish operation. The company is locating in offices in Enniscorthy's historic former court building.
The regional expansion is on the foot of accelerated growth of its North American business that has seen the company increase global headcount by over 50% year to date across its existing footprint in Bermuda, the U.S., Canada, and the Philippines, as well as at its European headquarters in Dublin. The new roles in Ireland will be for experienced financial service professionals and qualified accountants with a working knowledge of Fund Accounting or Financial Reporting. "With the significant growth of our client base over the last three years, and the continuing strength of our new business pipeline, we are always on the lookout for opportunities to add experienced talent to our footprint. County Wexford offers a strong pool of well-educated fund administration professionals and we are looking to speak with individuals that will thrive in a fast-paced business who are keen to join our mission to build the fund administrator of the future," Opus Regional CEO Christian Pollard said Tuesday.
Ireland's Minister of State at the Department of Finance and Department of Public Expenditure & Reform Michael D'Arcy welcomed Tuesday's announcement, saying: "We have a developing cluster of financial services companies here in Wexford, and I am delighted that Opus Fund Services has selected Enniscorthy for the establishment of their second office in Ireland as they continue to expand their operations. Wexford has so much to offer, with easy access and proximity to the major urban centres of Dublin, Cork and Limerick, together with our connectivity and pro-business climate."
"The creation of 100 jobs in Enniscorthy is a huge boost for the town, to county Wexford and indeed to the South East Region. The Irish funds sector has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and I wish Opus Fund Services continued success with their operations here in Ireland," D'Arcy sid.
Minister of State at the Departments of An Taoiseach and Defence, Paul Kehoe added: "This represents a significant endorsement of not only Enniscorthy, but Wexford and the South East region. The fact too that Opus Funds Services is expanding beyond Dublin signals a vote of real confidence in the South East. This is a firm that is going from strength to strength and I want to also recognise and commend the role played by colleagues in IDA Ireland."
IDA Ireland's Divisional Manager, International Financial Services, Kieran Donoghue said: "IDA Ireland is delighted at this announcement for Enniscorthy, for County Wexford and the entire South East Region. Opus Fund Services joins a growing number of international financial services firms that are operating in the South East and across Ireland's regions. Their presence will provide significant local employment opportunities and enhance the attractiveness of the region for further investment by the funds sector and broader financial services industry."
